Develop interest in life as you see it; in people, things, literature, music – the world is so rich, simply throbbing with rich treasures, beautiful souls and interesting people. Forget yourself.
– Henry Miller.
And so the discovery begins…
After recently going through my grade school graduation sign in books I discovered that some things never change. My favorite book/movie was and still is “Gone with the Wind”. My motto in the 6th grade -- Live, Love, Laugh. At the age of twelve I volunteered at a local nursing home and after a long sabbatical I am back again. I was a kid who wanted to create a life filled with love. I believe I have succeeded.
As long as I can remember I loved to travel and explore. I have lived in a tree house in the middle of the jungle, sailed around the Caribbean, set out alone to the Greek Islands, spent an evening with the Eiffel Tower, strolled the cobble streets of Roma, and much more.
As I continue to evolve as a person, I am grateful for my studies in theatre, photography, writing and my long time career at J.P. Morgan. In my early thirties I stumbled on the practice of yoga which is when I became acquainted with my body’s physical strength. I realized if I could stand on my head – anything is possible.
One of my favorite things to do is to listen to music. Music is one of the great pleasures in life; it will make you smile no matter your age. I am excited about my new endeavor “singing”. I am ready to belt out a few tunes!
I am honored to know and love some of the most incredible people. After countless adventures of meeting many interesting people I can say that most have influenced me in good ways, but I must admit a couple of bad ways too!
My last words written in my high school graduation sign off book was “I’m in a New York State of Mind” which brings me to one of my favorite topics - New York City.
New York City is full of - diversity, individuality, self-expression, arts, adventure, creativity, and power! Not too mention some of the best restaurants!
We don’t receive wisdom, we must discover it for ourselves after a journey that no one can take for us or spare us. – Marcel Proust
As I approach my 40th Birthday I couldn’t agree more!
