Balance & Shoes

I start with shoes because I love shoes. It is a good idea to have a wide variety of shoes in your closet because in life there are many different occasions along with challenges and decisions to make. A few of my favorites are: the sling backs (especially with a peep toe), the ballerina flat, the wedge, and my all time favorite the flip flop.

I would not recommend a closet full of only sling backs because in a snow storm -- not such a good idea. My personal belief is your shoe closet must be well balanced not weighted down. Maintaining balance is challenging for most people including me. I suppose that is why there are hundreds of articles and books on this topic. Reading about the subject is great but the key is putting the stuff we learn into everyday practice -- now that is the challenge.

My favorite quote from Forest Gump is “Life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get." Life will throw us all sorts of curve balls some good and some not so good that is why it is important to know what shoes to put on. Unfortunately, life is not always for wearing flip flips; it would be great if it were but sometimes we must put on a pair of Timberland boots to hike up that mountain. Just remember there will always be a day to wear Prada!

Freud said, “You are the rider on the horse” Basically we control the horse not the other way around. I like to say “I am the walker in my shoes”. Throughout my blog I will share with you the people who have influenced me, ways to find & maintain balance and lots of fun things to do!

Know who you are and then be unique in your shoes.
