My evening with Woody.....

My evening with Woody… My buddy Max and I spent an intimate evening with Woody at the famous Carlye Café on Monday evening. The café is very romantic surrounded by original murals created by French artist Marcel Vertès. It was like being in an old Hollywood movie and the backdrop is pure New York City.

I showed up to see Woody and am glad to report he showed up with the Eddy Davis New Orleans jazz band. It began with a glass of champagne, followed by a lovely dinner and great New Orleans jazz with Woody playing the clarinet. There was no mistake that Woody Allen was on stage playing the clarinet. The women sitting next to me who was from New Orleans whispered “this is classic New Orleans jazz”. It was awesome Woody played the entire time as well as a bunch of solos. If you came to see Woody you get a whole lot of Woody which is fabulous!

It was a classic NYC evening filled with elegance and sophistication. As my friend Max said “I had a fabulous Max kind of evening last night!” Okay, I have watched Annie Hall one too many times. Here’s to the great writer Woody who plays the clarinet with a whole lot of heart and the Eddy Davis New Orleans jazz band. Simply wonderful!

I was able to capture a little video of Woody playing – enjoy!
