Avra - it's all Greek to me

Avra
141 East 48th Street

Last Thursday I arranged for a dinner with my gal pals to Avra. Since its been a couple of years I was a little apprehensive with my recommendation, but I am happy to report that Avra did not disappoint.
Greek is fun to order family style, and with the help of our waitress Antonia we had a great experience and a fabulous meal. We started out with a couple of mezedes (small plates), and ordered two freshly caught whole fish.
But the shout out goes to.......
The Greek salad was amazing; filled with heirloom tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, onions kalamata olives and feta; it is a MUST!!

The homemade yogurt with honey, vissino (sour cherry preserve) & nuts was so heavenly that Aviva emailed us the next day to let us know she wished she was sitting in front of a VAT of the yogurt with all of us and 6 spoons!

Until the next time.
